Starz Dance Studio - Staff
David Pitti has been dancing for 10 years and teaching dance for
the past 5 years. He began his dance career at the World of Dance studio
in Fayetteville, NC back in 2000, studying ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary/
lyrical and hip-hop. Since then, he has taken off with his dance skills,
exploring his talents. In his short career thus far, he has gone on to take
classes at the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, The Juilliard School and Broadway
Dance Center in NYC, and the Edge Performing Arts Center in Los
Angeles. David is a two-time national dance champion (2000 & 2002),
and has also competed at the Hollywood Vibe Dance Championships
and won 1st place in the Pro-Amateur Contemporary category. In 2007,
he completed his undergraduate degrees at the University of North
Carolina Greensboro along with a Minor in Dance. In the same year,
David also auditioned for the popular American show, So You Think
You Can Dance, and qualified past his Atlanta audition. David is also a
certified judge in both cheerleading and dance, and has judged numerous
cheerleading and dance competitions both regionally and nationally.
Though David has put a lot of emphasis into his dance he is also a
well rounded athlete. He was a gymnast for 13 years, a soccer player for
over 20 years and was a college cheerleader at UNCG. He relocated to
Central Florida in October 2009, and is looking to complete his Master’s
in Business Administration at the University of Florida. Currently, he is the
Jazz, Contemporary/Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop teacher and Competition Team
Coordinator here at Starz Dance.
Annelise has studied dance since an early age in the styles of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Acrobatics, and Hip Hop. During her years of dance she studied at Dussich Dance Studio, Holly Rocks Dance Factory, Dance by Holly, Dance Mania, Dance Space, Marta’s Dance Studio, King Street Dance Center, Brevard Community College, Atlanta Ballet and Dance Masters Dance Conventions.
Annelise also performed in The Disney Christmas Parade as well as the Citrus Bowl Parade. She was a member of the Merritt Island High School Varsity Dance Team and won multiple competitions including UDA Nationals and Brevard County Dance Competitions.
Annelise currently teaches Ballet at Starz Dance Studio and is continuing her training in Melbourne and Merritt Island.
Phyllis Smith is an eclectic Middle Eastern belly dancer with a mix of traditional styles from the east, with a fusion of Modern & Western dance technique. She has trained in New York and was privileged to have studied with some of the best: Serena, Morocco, & Bobby Farrah, to name a few.
She also teaches & performs ancient & modern hula & Tahitian dance.
Phyllis has taught Jazz, ballet, lyrical, tap, hula and belly dancing for 23 years in her Studio in New York. She has performed all across the United States, including Hawaii, for charitable events, private parties, restaurants, and even New York’s Lincoln Center.
